Hansa error

Dear Support,

A number of users regularly get this error:

SendM4MessageGetThreadSendLevel()>1 ac=68

Any idea what this error is related to?

Dear Customer,

This error might be caused by different reasons, would you be able to observe what exactly the user is doing before getting this message?

In some situation restarting the server might help. Please, try that.

You might also start the server with --verbosity=debug parameter, to get more detailed information in the log.

Dear Support,

The server is restarted every night. A couple of examples are that a user was "Okaying" an order and another is someone was creating a new invoice, the message "May not be blank" came up followed by the SendM4 error. At that point both users were unable to close any of the Hansa windows.

The verbosity=debug will be set from tonight.

We have started Hansa with the verbosity parameter and have a log file for investigation. How can I upload it or shall I send it via email?

Yes, that is fine.
There is no SendM4 message in the log file, which might suggest the error only appears on client. Would you be able to reinstall the client for a selected user that is getting the error and observe if the error still appears?

If yes, then please, send us the log file again with the exact time the error occured - to allow us investigate the logs of that exact time.

Hello Support,

Hope you are patient with me on this one. Could it be the way Hansa is installed? You might have to run through the recommended setup process for Windows if that is that is the case.

The way I install Hansa is to copy the folder from a working machine and create a shortcut on the desktop. The users who get this message arent the machines that I have installed Hansa. If I re-install Hansa is the way I do it ok?

If then the error occurs, am I pulling the log file from the client machine? Where do I look for that log?

Hello Dil,

You may want to install the client from the package, and not by copying. Please, try that. Once you run the package, the installation goes easily, there is everything there to guide you.

The next step is running the client and connecting to server. If your server is in the same local network, and is not encrypted, you should see it in the list of available servers. Otherwise you need to enter IP and port.

If the error still occurs on the client, please check the client log - it's called "hansa.log" (or might be just "hansa" on Windows) and is placed in the main application folder on client.

Thank you, I have had a look and the log appears to be a text file called Hansa.

If Hansa has been installed correctly would it show as an installed program under Control Panel>Programs and Features?

Are you able to provide me with a link to the official install package for Hansa7.2?

Hello Dil,

The last published version of 7.2 is available at standardinstall.com,
you need to choose Older Versions option.

Please, check if the date is consistent with the date of your installation, it should be the same.
