Setting up a new company in v7.1

We’ve recently purchased a new company and we’re having some problems in setting it up. We have also just upgraded to version 7.1 2013-12-05

We have:
Open Company Settings
Entered the next number under ‘Code’
Entered the Company Name
Entered the short name
Entered the TCP/IP number
Entered the Port number

This has been done on the server. When we try to access this from the client to set up a chart of accounts, it says ‘That company doesn’t exist on the Server’.

What are we doing wrong?
