Hansa 7.2 font on new devices

Dear Support,

We have just purchased a Microsoft Surface and an HP Spectre, both have the same issue with the Hansa 7.2 client.

The Hansa window shows the top two bars (e.g. Username and below that the menu bar) in the normal font. But the body of the Hansa window shows almost like font size 6? Its too small to work with.

Is there a setting within Hansa that allows the font to be changed?

Let me know if I have described it clearly enough.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the background, that's useful to know. I guess then, that we have no solution for the font issue currently but to plan a Hansa upgrade or in the meantime see if we can get the web client working (on the other ticket), which shouldn't have a problem with the font size.

It would seem logical to close this ticket. I will pursue the web client and Hansa upgrade separately.

Hi Dil

Can you try this:

Right click on the Enterprise icon, and click Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and tick "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings", and click OK. Then launch Enterprise and see if that's made any difference. If that doesn't work, you can also set a custom scaling level within the advanced display properties of Windows.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your suggestions. I was trying the "Disable display scaling on high DPI earlier today". It has increased the font but the text is not aligned correctly.

I am now trying your suggestion about custom scaling the different components. So far the outside text changes but not the text in body of the window.

I will test this a bit more and come back to you.

Hi Paul,

I have tried the various scaling within Windows and different resolutions. With the advanced scaling options I change the menu fonts, the message box fonts but there is no change on the font within the window.

Should I send you a screenshot? If so, how would you like me to send it?

Hi Dil

What are the screen resolutions of the Surface and HP? Apparently there are issues with the font size on higher resolution devices, which are fixed in the latest 8.0/8.1 versions of Standard ERP. But I don't think there's much you can do in 7.2 other than reducing the resolution, which will clearly affect other applications.

Hi Paul,

Although not to hand I believe the Surface has a resolution of 2160 × 1440 and the HP Spectre is higher. Any change in the Windows resolution doesnt affect the font size in the "internal" area of the Hansa window. we have a slight workaround in that an external monitor can display a readable font size. But this is not ideal.

I did hear about the fix and tried it but the client doesnt work with our installation.

Can I check something else with you? We are on Enterprise ERP, the fix is on Standard ERP. There will be no development work on Enterprise ERP?

Is Enterprise ERP not the bigger product?

Hi Dil

HansaWorld's main ERP package was called Enterprise up to and including 7.2, but from version 8 it is called Standard ERP. The change in product name coincides with the change to subscription licensing. If not for this, Standard ERP 8.0 would have been called Enterprise 8.0. They are essentially the same product but version 8 has been quite heavily developed, there are some changes to the user interface and also in the background.
