Enterprise 7.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi Support,

We are trying to install version 7.2 2015-03-12 (with Halcust) on a Windows 2008 Server R2 SP1 64 Bit – when we come to run the client to load the backup file we get the following message:

"The application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect".

We get the same message without the Halcust.

We have tried uninstalling and installing it again but still get the same message – we have even tried this on another Windows 2008 Server R2 SP1 64 Bit and still get the same message.

What is the solution? Why doesn’t the Enterprise client run and what do we need to do to get it to run so we can restore a backup.

Thanks

Best Wishes

Dear Dave,

Have you tried to import the backup file to the server directly?

To do that, please install the server first, then place the file parameters.txt to server main folder and put there the backup's name.
Make sure parameters.txt has exactly this name (lower case letters), and must be plain text, with absolutely no other characters inside.

Run the service, you should see in the log that the backup is being imported, after it's done, the service should close.
Make sure you remove the backup's name from the parameters.txt file before you run the service.

Can you connect to server? Do you have any messages?

Hi Support,

I've created a parameters.txt file with my back file name. Started the service and the log file does say it's importing the backup but the Hansa.HDB file that's created is only 11kb in size and is clearly blank.
For what it's worth, I also tried to connect and it wouldn't (server not responding message) but that's probably due to the blank Hansa.HDB file.

The service continues to run and doesn't stop.

What else I can try?

Best Wishes
