7.2 Drilldown

Hi there,

We have noticed that the drilldown to transactions in 7.2 from reports (like a trial balance) now show the transactions on 2 lines by specifying the user that keyed on each transaction - is there a way we can turn off the user being listed on drilldowns?

We note that the same is true when using the Nominal Ledger Report to list transactions as this is essentially the same report as the drilldown - same here, can we show transactions on 1 row at all without HAL?

Thanks

Dave

Hello Dave,

The transactions are presented in the old way, in one row, though in fact showing the person's initials. You can not change that without HAL.
What is the 7.2 version you are using? (version date) so we could check the 2 rows.

Best regards,

Hi HansaWorld Support,

The version the customer is using is 7.2 2015-03-12 - it definitely shows each transaction on 2 rows with the persons signature on the first row and the transaction text on the 2nd row.

Was this changed in a later versions of 7.2 to only show on 1 row then?

Thanks

Hello Dave,

I can not repeat the double rows effect.
I have created a demo database for version 7.2 2015-03-12, tested on a single user installation and client-server.

I will give you an example:
I run Nominal Ledger report with default parameters (year 2014), first account - 100 only contains one transaction S/INV.2014001, and in one row only. Drill Down opens the transaction record, nothing is doubled there either.
Trial Balance - same situation - run for default parameteres, drill down to the first account from the list which is 100, and I only see one row.

My idea is - perhaps the transactions are duplicated somehow, would you, please, check that?
Does it happen for all accounts?
Do you have any HAL on that installation?

Hi HansaWorld Support Team,

The transactions are not duplicated.
It happens for every account.
Yes, we have HAL on this and every installation.

I cannot attach files here on the forum so will email you the screenshots.

Hello Dave,

Ok, I understand now.

This may sound like a very simple idea, maybe too simple - but have you tried to extend the report window?
Sometimes it happens that data don't fit in in one line if the window is too narrow. And in your example the signature code is 7 characters long, and perhaps alltogether these things create the effect you see.

Please, try extending the window.

Hi there,

Okay, I did try extending the window previously but have now extended it all the way across my 24" screen and it does now go onto one line - this data had a user login that is only 5 characters long. Thanks for the tip!

Could we ask that this is amended please so that it doesn't have to have the screen extended so wide to take in to account the users that have longer login signatures i.e. longer than 3 characters. We also need to print these nominal transaction reports and it makes the report twice as long.
Nearly all of our clients have logins that have their first name, not their initials and therefore tend to be longer than 3 characters.

Thanks

PS Even with a 3 character signature, printing on portrait still goes on to 2 lines.
So if we could request that this layout is altered that would be great.

Thanks

Hello Dave,

How does it look when you print in landscape? Does it also take so many pages to print?

I recommend you test in 8.0 to see if the problem is still there for you. I don't see it (on Mac). What is the OS that you are using?
