Safe to delete a user account and recreate?

Dear Support,

One of our users is not seeing any items in the browse windows (.e.g. Sales Orders). Its probably not easy to fix or is it? Or is it safe for me to delete the record and setup the user again?

Will a new record, if given the same name and email address pick up all the history and emails?

Dear Dil,

I would not suggest for you deleting the user and creating a new one - should figure out the issue instead.

Is he able to see other things in the system but he only doesn't see the item list when using the paste special (ctrl / cmd + enter)?

have you checked his access rights in the access groups he is using - maybe he has no access to the items register?

Its not a short explanation which is why I wondered if deleting and recreating might be easier.

I have been trying to add an action which we have called "allow changing contact record". The user has a global account and wanted that access in the second company. This didn't work.

I put the account back to how it was. It used to work before I made the changes and has all the privileges. Its not the paste special, just any window where you normally see the list of items, for example Module>Purchase Orders, Register>Purchase Orders. Nothing shows when using this account. I have setup a duplicate account (incl global user) with the same access groups and that works how it should.

Bit odd really.

Can't it be that the issue is in a fact that the user has start access level "No access" in his global user card, comparing to the other user who has "Full access"?

Is the item register only one with which you have issues?

Quick test to do to check is the issue in access rights would be to add as a last row to the access group definition:
Register -> Items -> Full
line...

We've found the problem. I don't know if I did but maybe I inadvertently ticked "User only" in the Limited Access section on the user card.
