The live server is running on port 1203 and the backup server I am trying to run it on port 1200. What we need to solve first is that why is the server still seeing the IP address of the live server whilst I am trying to run this on a backup server with a

It might be, that your live server's IP address is specified in the companies setting.
When you try to log in, and the system gives you the error message, it should then open the company list window.
Then you should highlight the company name>>open operations menu>>select "Open Companies Setting". There you can specify the IP and port of the company to which you are trying to connect. Next time the system by default will try to connect to the specified IP through the specified port.
