Running 7.2 as standalone

Hi there,

When we run version 7.2 client on a windows machine, we sometimes get a message that says "This database can only be opened with a server version of this program".

The system closes immediately afterwards. I seem to recall that we used to delete certain files from the 7.2 Enterprise folder (the one I used to connect to the server) besides the hansa. hdb) but I cannot recall the names of these files. Can you help please so that I can run the client with a local set of data?

Thanks

Kind regards

Dave

Hello Dave,

This is not a database error, it was programmed like that.
You should use a server package to open this database, and then connect with clients.

Please, check on standardinstall.com, if there is a suitable server package available (you might find it in Older Versions) - make sure the dated version of the server and client are the same.

You can also test on 8.0 client single-user installation, it should be possible in 8.0 again.
