Customer number changing
2013-11-08
Hello,

When I enter a new customer into the system now, it is automatically assigning it a 7 digit customer number instead of a 6 digit customer number. How do I get it to go back to automatically picking a 6 digit number and is there any way to change the customer number for a customer that has already had orders entered underneath it back to a 6 digit number?

A little extra info is that I did enter a test customer number at 999999. Could this be why it cycled around?

Thanks

The Last contact code is stored in Number Series Defaults setting (in System module).
If you would change that number to the last 6 digit customer code, that you have, then the next customer will get a 6 digit number.
(and yes, the system always saves the last number entered, so if you change the sequence to 7 digits, then it will pick the next number from that one).

It is possible to change the customer number with the conversion routine.
You can read more about this from the online manual: wwwhansamanuals.com

I hope it helps
